ROBBIE ANDERSEN, DIED AT BLAIR HOSPITAL SUNDAY

Robbie Andersen, lifelong resident of Washington County and also a life-long farmer, died at the Blair Hospital Sunday, September 29th following a brief illness. He was 80 years of age, having been born March 2, 1894 in Blair.

As a young man he took up farming and he followed this work throughout his entire life. He lived on the same farm near Kennard for 54 years, leaving there only a short time ago when his health required special care.

He was married to Jennie Matzen in 1916 and they were married 56 years, Mrs. Matzen passing away in June of 1972.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth White (Ione) of Omaha and by Ivan Andersen, of Kennard. There are five grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A sister, Mrs. Agnes Nielsen and a brother, Torvel Andersen, live in Blair.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Kennard Methodist Church with the Rev. John Fitzmeier conducting the service. Burial was made in the Kennard Cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Arnold and Phillip Matzen, Milo Christensen, Merle Andersen, Lloyd Nielsen and Marlin Taylor.
