Alfred L. Polston, 81, of Strawberry, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023 in the Cave City Nursing Home. He was born March 23, 1942 in Saffell, Arkansas to Thurman Polston and Retha Jarrett. He was a precision worker having started Precision Lures in 1984. He was also a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Alfred enjoyed fishing, hunting, working, travel, vacations, and riding horses.

He is preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Jack Adams, Cledis Polston, Jerrell Polston, Jerry Polston, Dwight Polston and Curtis Polston; two sisters, Glenda Mae Polston and Linda Randolph; and two grandchildren, Chris Polston and Veronica Woodruff.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Tammy Whitmire Polston of the home; one son, Kenneth Dewight Polston of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three daughters, Vanita Joyce Woodruff of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Tamatha Welcher (Alan) of Arkadelphia, Arkansas and Jamie Penn (Randy) of Smithville, Arkansas; one sister, Brenda Wright of Strawberry, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Kaylan Watson, Conner Welcher, Allison Blevins, Brooklyn Penn, Casey Woodruff, Stephanie Willard, Alan Polston and Timothy Polston; eleven great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Jerry Chandler, assisted by Roger Randolph officiating. Burial will follow in the Dry Creek Cemetery in Strawberry with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
