James Welch was the first child of Michael Welch (1769-January 29, 1837) and Sarah Bray Welch (abt. 1790 - 1840-1850). James Welch was my ggggrandfather and the father of my gggrandmother, Emily Miley Welch Phillips who was the wife of Rev. John Wesley Phillips, a Methodist minister. Descendents of the Welch family members still own this property. Most grave markers cannot be read. My ggrandfather was James Allen Phillips. My grandmother was Isa Eunice Phillips Beal. James Welch's first wife was Rittie Ann Welch. Their children include Nancy Welch (8 August 1826 -23 December 1853), Emily Miley Welch Phillips (3 August 1829 - 15 November 1892) and Emslely Welch (b. 1832). After Rittie died James Welch married Anna Bray and had one son James Wesley Welch (1835-1915). After Anna's death James Welch married Wincy Welch.
