High Point – Tony Wayne Garcia, 63, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at his home.

Born August 22, 1960, in High Point, Tony was the son of the late Danny and Carolyn Kennedy Garcia. Tony grew up in High Point, and graduated from T. Wingate Andrews High School in 1978, where he was a member of the golf team. He was of the Catholic faith and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Montlieu Ave. when he was younger. He worked as a computer programmer for Salem Carpets and Jefferson-Pilot, and later worked with his father's furniture business, Daniel's Manufacturing. Tony enjoyed riding motorcycles, making homemade salsa, playing guitar, and singing and writing songs. Above all, Tony had a heart for all animals and creatures of nature, especially the numerous dogs that he rescued and considered his children.

Tony is survived by his sister Teresa Garcia, of High Point; uncles Rudy Garcia (Donna), of Green Valley, AZ, Bobby Garcia, of Tucson, AZ; and Kenneth Kennedy, of Pleasant Garden. Also surviving are numerous cousins and friends. He will be remembered as a gentle and generous man, always willing to help out a friend or anyone else in need whom with he crossed paths.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point is assisting the family.
