Savedria Abner Sherman, son of James Edgar and Joanna Sherman was born at Cadis, Wisconsin, July 30, 1868, and died at his home in Eureka, Kansas, January 2, 1951, at the age of 82 years, 5 months, and 2 days.
He farmed in Greenwood County for many years, but due to failing health sold his farm and livestock and moved to Eureka, Kansas.
He was united in marriage to Cynthia Gleason on January 25, 1893, and to this union three children were born; Adrian T. of Toronto, Kansas; Mary S. deceased; and Francis E. of Bow, Washington. His wife preceded him in death on January 2, 1916. He again married in 1917 to Golda Swann, who died April 18, 1918. In the year 1928 he united in marriage to Pearl Trimble.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Pearl; two sons, Adrain T. Sherman of Toronto, Kansas, and Francis E. Sherman of Bow, Washington; two brothers R. B. Sherman of Hamilton, Kansas and O. D. Sherman of Toronto, Kansas three step-children; six nephews; six neices; four grandchildren five great grandchildren; a host of friends and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Quincy E. U. B. Church conducted by Rev. Claude Overholt of Toronto. Hymes were sung by a quartet composed of Mrs. Nelson Bisagmo, Mrs. Piatt Slough, Bundy Johnson and Barney Brown. Pallbearers wer Jim, Clarence, and Bill Sherman, Daryl Pugh, Ralva and Norman Watts.
Burial was in the Quincy Cemetery.
