Loren Wade Snepp, 93, Olathe, died last night at the Velta nursing home, Olathe. He owned the Snepp Drug company in Olathe from 1895 until he retired about 10 years ago.
Mr. Snepp was a past master and a 50-year member of the Olathe Masonic lodge and a past patron and 50 year member of the Olathe chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the former Congregational Church in Olathe, Mr. Snepp was on the Olathe City council about 1900. He was an organizer and the first president of the First Federal Savings and Loan association at Olathe, serving on the board of directors until several years ago. He was cashier of the first National Bank of Olathe from 1909 to 1912.
Mr. Snepp served on the Olathe school board 20 years. He was the first president of the Merchants and Farmers association, which later became the Olathe Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Snepp was born in Edinburg, Ind. He studied pharmacy at the University of Kansas and was graduated in 1889. He owned a drug store in Gardner five years, serving as postmaster also until he moved to Olathe.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Grace Pickering Snepp of the home; a son, John H. Snepp, Olathe, who now operates the drug company and two grand children and three great-grand children.
