Such touching tributes, Thank you all, it does help soften the sorrow!!! Laura

Martha was a mentor to me for some 35+ years. (She always said she created a monster!) Mother of my sister-in-law and grandmother of my nephew, we shared so much over the years. We traipsed through high weeds looking for cemeteries; crawled on our hands and knees too ... so many memories. I am heart broken. One of our most treasured finds was that of my 4th great-grandmother, Lavina "Lovey" Lewis Holland 1762-1860. The gravestone was found in 1998 by prodding. It was completely buried about 3-4" under the ground. Completely intact!! The cemetery was open to cattle, so we buried it again just where we unearthed it. By Laura J Stewart
