Jane Beardsley -lee, the daughter of Dr. Nehemiah and Elvira (Anderson) Beardsley, wedded Mr. James Rogers in 1868 probably in Duarte. Her father, Nehemiah Beardsley -lee, was a well-known pioneer of the Duarte, and the owner of the Beardsley tract. Jane was born in Texas, about 1851 and was the sixth child. She died in 1873, leaving three children: John, Mary and Alice. Her son John was my maternal grandfather. He married Lura Helsley of Duarte. Alice Rogers Tungate [Neff], died in San Diego, CA, 1953. I wonder if Jane died in childbirth or from postpartum complications?? [If you have any information on this family please contact us.
