Janice Dee Lane Anderson
August 17, 1947 - November 21, 2023

Janice Dee Lane Anderson of Portland, Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, after a four-month battle with liver cancer. Janice was born August 17, 1947, to Charles and Nellie Lane in Sandy, Oregon, and was the youngest of three daughters. As a child, Janice attended Sandy Elementary School and Sandy High School. She spent her early childhood on a small farm and in 6th grade her family moved into town. After graduation, Janice attended Oregon State University where she earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. She did her student teaching in Albany and secured her first teaching job in West Linn. Janice married Charles Storey in 1973; they had four children and resided in Forest Grove. Janice's children were her pride and joy—everything she did was to support and care for her children. She eventually returned to teaching in the Forest Grove School District at Echo Shaw Elementary School. She furthered her education at Lewis and Clark College and earned several extended education certificates. On July 18, 2015, Janice married Clyde Anderson in the Portland Oregon LDS Temple. Janice was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held a number of leadership roles and had various responsibilities. She loved to serve in the Church and to help lift the burdens of many by making meals and home visits, sending out cards and letters, and most importantly helping others to feel loved and important.

Janice leaves behind many loved ones: her husband and sweetheart Clyde Anderson; her four adult children Hillary Storey, Jolie Barella, Valerie Sallay, and Richard Storey; her seven grandchildren Andrew, Jackson, Nellie, Charlotte, Nicholas, Henry, and Savannah; and her two sisters Jean Jones (Dan) of Portland and Jane Lucas (Michae) of Willis, Texas. Janice has numerous relatives in the Portland area and in other locations throughout the country.

Funeral Services for Janice will be held on Friday, December 1, with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, and the service beginning at 11:00 AM. The service will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 6605 SW Garden Home Road, Portland, Oregon. A private burial will take place at Cliffside Cemetery in Sandy, Oregon.

In lieu of flowers, it would please Janice to have any memorial donations be made to Meals on Wheels or CancerCare.
