Delwin served in the Air Force from March 1952 to March 1956. He was an avid entrepreneur, exploring business ventures involving creation of rubber stamps, engraved items, and professional seals. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he had the opportunity to serve in various callings over the course of his life. Delwin enjoyed gardening, dancing, photography, leather working, and had an interest in building and designing various home and yard improvement projects.
Delwin is survived by his children, James V. Lamoreaux of Hurley, New Mexico, Edwin D. Lamoreaux of Hurley, New Mexico, Gaylene Whitworth (spouse Seth Whitworth) of Muleshoe, Texas, and Denise Knight (spouse David Knight) of Fairfield, Texas, 13 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Calvin L. Lamoreaux, his parents, Douglas Byam Lamoreaux and Theresa Haws Lamoreaux, as well as his siblings Donald Lamoreaux, Chester Lamoreaux, and Wilna DeWitt.
A memorial service will be held on November 25, 2023 at 11:00 in the morning at the Milford Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (748 West 600 South Milford, Utah). A viewing for family will be held on the same day and location at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Fort Bayard National Cemetery in Fort Bayard, New Mexico, on December 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. www.mortuary.org.
