On Tuesday, July 23, 2019, an angel came and quietly claimed the life of James Able Fleming in Houston, TX; with his daughter Dyann Stewart and family by his side.

James was born on March 26, 1940, in Sallis, MS; to the late Clay Willie Fleming and Lue L. V. Fleming.

James attended Sallis Elementary and High School.

He joined Barlow United Methodist Church, at an early age, where he served as a Trustee.

James was united in holy matrimony to Johnnie V. Fleming on November 28, 1962, to this union, seven children were born.

He worked at Sheller Globe in Kosciusko, MS; for fifteen years and at Grife Plastic, in Durant, MS; until it closed. He enjoyed life, working, and helping others. He was a carpenter that built many houses in the community.

His hobbies were planting gardens, fishing, coon hunting, baseball and basketball. But most of all, he enjoyed playing his guitar and raising cattle.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie V. Fleming; a son, Willie Melvin Kitchens; three sisters, Emma Lou Austin, Elesteen Rockett, and Ruth Handley; four brothers, John Cal Fleming, Willie Fleming, Jr., Bishop Fleming, and Billy Fleming.

James will be especially missed by his daughters, Dyann (Rick) Stewart, of Houston, TX; Vivian (Frankie) Roby of Kosciusko, MS; Betty (Leonard) Brown, and Linda Stephens, of Sallis, MS; Denise (Carlos) Runnels of Phoenix City, AL; and Annie (Jerry) Stingley, of Memphis, TN; two brothers Hubert (Shirley) Fleming and Walter (Earlene) Fleming of Sallis, MS; twenty-three grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. James A. Fleming, a native of Sallis, MS; passed away on Tuesday, Jul 23, 2019, in Houston, TX; of natural causes.
