Catherine Louise Butler, 87, of Harrington passed away at home on November 16, 2023. Born in Milford, DE she was the daughter of the late Emma (Allen) and Louder Smith Edwards.
Mrs. Butler owned Jennifer's Restaurant in Harrington for several years. She was a member of Harrington Moose Lodge #534 in Harrington. She enjoyed camping and was an avid reader.
Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her husband, Earl F. Butler, who passed away in 1999. She is survived by two children, Carol Walther and her husband Gary of St. Georges and Mildred "Dink" Winkler of Harrington; four step children: Wayne Butler of North Carolina, Cheryl Ray of South Carolina, Linda Butler of Harrington and Karen Butler of Harrington; her brother Smith Edwards and his wife Tiny of Hartly; numerous grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by her rat terrier, Max. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her two children Catherine "Kitty" Dare and Karen Sue Barmer, and by her sister Edna Mae.
A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 24, 2023 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Friday. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
