Daughter of John Cooney and Ellen Farrell

w/Richard Cullen

MRS. CULLEN.

On Tuesday, January 30, Mrs. Cullen, wife of Mr. Richard Cullen, passed away at her residence at Molka, after a lingering illness, at the age of 74 years. The late Mrs. Cullen, who previous to her illness had led an active life, and had been on many occasions a ministering angel to neighbouring families in sickness and trouble, was greatlv beloved. The deceased,

who was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Cooney, pioneer settlers of the Redesdale district, had resided nearly 50 years at Molka, where she was held in the highest affection and esteem. Following on a serious illness of a few years ago, from which she never really recovered, she had been a partial invalid, tended with every care and devotion, and supported by the religious, rites of her Church.

The interment took place at Euroa Cemetery on January 31, when the lengthy cortege testified to the high esteem in which deceased and her family were held, many persons travelling long distances to be present.

A short stay was made at St. John's Church. The Rev. Fr. Rooney conducted the service there and also at the graveside. The business of the Shire Council was adjourned to allow councillors to attend the funeral. Deep sympathy is extended to the sorrowing husband and family of three daughters and six sons—

Mary, Sarah (Mrs. O'Connell, Finley), Jim (Cobram), Michael (Manildra), Eileen (Mrs. Danaher, Ungarie), John (Cobram), Rex and Leo (Molka), and Patrick (Bright).

The pall-bearers were Messrs. P. Cullen, F. O'Farrell, J. Broughan, jun., J. O'Connell, M. O'Connell and J. Danaher. Messrs. James, John, Richard and Leo Cullen acted as coffin-bearers, and Masters Bernard, Allan and Kevin Pearson as flower-bearers. R.I.P.
