Obituary
David L. "Chief" Thatcher age 82, formally of Freedom, Indiana passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Meadow Lakes Nursing Center in Mooresville, Indiana. He was born in Freedom on July 5, 1941 to Claude and Wilma "Keefover" Thatcher. David graduated from Coal City High School in 1959. David was a self-employed truck driver his entire life in Indiana and Florida.

David is survived by his daughter Shannon Thatcher of Plainfield, Indiana, son, Jimmie Dean Thatcher of Vero Beach, Florida, granddaughters, Jamie Mugan and Alaina Cutler, and sister Trudy (Terry) Jamison of Spencer.

He is preceeded in death by his parents and a grandson, Kyle Thatcher.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 N. Montgomery Street, Spencer, IN 47460. Masonic rites will start at 5:30 pm with the service following.

Family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
