Resident of this county for 30 years succumbs
Mrs. J. M. Hood, 36, for the greater part of her life was a resident of Mitchell County, died in an Abilene sanitarium last Thursday night after an illness of several weeks' duration. Burial was in Spade Friday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. F. H. Ford and Rev. W. C. Hinds.
Mrs. Hood, who was Mary Ray Hargrove before her marriage in June 1908, came to Mitchell County with her parents some 30 years ago, and since that time has made her home in the Spade Community, where she went to school.
Besides her husband, five children survived her, there were James, Jr., Evelyn, Addie Lou, Ruth, and Russell. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. R. F. Hargrove of Colorado [City]; Miss Pauline Hargrove, teacher at Spade, and Miss Ruth Hargrove; four brothers, Garrard W., with the Navy in Hampton Roads, VA; R. P. Hargrove of Cholk; Ross Hargrove of Spade, Paul Hargrove of Colorado [City]; and Mrs. Nellie Grace Eudy of Colorado, Texas.
