Dixie Lee Neal, age 87 of Monroe, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Dixie was born on January 6, 1936 in Crestline, Ohio to Richard and Rose Lusk. She married the love of her life, Freman Junior Neal on February 14, 1953 and together they had 3 loving children. Dixie was a 1953 graduate of Monroe High School. She worked as a manager for 20 plus years at Monroe Bank and Trust. Dixie was a very active member at Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She also served as President of the Women's Missionary Union. Some of Dixie's hobbies included making wedding cakes, playing the piano, singing and crocheting. Dixie leaves to cherish her memory her 3 children; Freman (Rene) Neal of Monroe, MI, Julie (John) Majerski of Monroe, MI and Paul (Cheryl) Neal of Monroe, MI, her grandchildren; Amy Karwick, Lyn (Mike) Herrmann, Brittani Neal, Alicia Neal and Brandie Frasier, her great grandchildren; Breanna, Katelyn, Ashley, Rachel, Nathan, Lacy and Harper and her brother Sonny Lusk. Dixie is preceded in death by her husband Freman Junior Neal, parents Richard and Rose Lusk and her 2 sisters Rose and Betty. Visitation and service will take place on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the service at 2:00 PM at The Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 203 E. Elm Ave., Monroe. Interment will follow the service at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, La Salle. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in her memory may do so to Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church, Monroe.
