NORTH VERNON --- Funeral for Grover V. Bear, 78, of Dupont, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dove and Sharp Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Lockwood officiating. Calling will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at Dupont Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Mr. Bear died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1993, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
He was the retired owner and operator of Bear Funeral Home in Dupont and was a member of Dupont Masonic Lodge, Dupont Baptist Church and Indiana Funeral Directors Association.
Born June 5, 1914, in Jefferson County, Mr. Bear was the son of Charles Orville and Grace Marie Boyd Bear. He married Freda Phillips April 5, 1942. She survives.
Also surviving are sons, Darrell Bear of Columbus, Kim Bear of Brentwood, Tennessee, and Grover Frederic Bear of Lexington, Kentucky; a daughter, Nancy Wells of Arrington, Tennessee; a sister, Hazel Trammell of Madison; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bear.

Burial was at Dupont Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike and Jeff Wells, and Fred, Freddy, Jeremy and Jamin Bear. Mr. Bear died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1993, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
