Renee Alyse Anderson, 22, of McGregor, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008, following a tragic accident. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 24, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, McGregor, with the Rev. Mike Paschall and the Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Crawford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, at Cole Funeral Home.

Renee was born in Waco, Texas, to Robbie and Retha (Chamblee) Anderson. Born a "premie", Renee displayed her fighting independent spirit from the very beginning of her life. She remained tiny in frame but huge in spirit throughout her life and was always the light of her parents and big brother, Robbie's, eyes. Renee is remembered by her extensive family and many friends, as a feisty and artistic soul with a special flair for fashion and the daring.

In 2004, Renee graduated from McGregor High School where she was a cheerleader, member of the Student Council and an honor graduate. Renee excelled in creative arts with a special knack for design and oil painting. She also featured a unique style of determination by competing as a feather-weight power lifter throughout her high school years. Renee attended McLennan Community College and Austin Community College and graduated from Austin School of Beauty as a licensed esthetician. She loved painting, shopping and dancing. At the time of her death she was employed by EMSI as an insurance clerk.

Survivors include her parents, Robert Paul and Retha Anderson, of McGregor; a devoted big brother, Robbie "Toot" Anderson and wife, Brenda, of San Antonio; paternal grandparents, Katherine "Mama Kate" Anderson, of McGregor; maternal grandparents, Roma "Mama Fene" Chamblee, of McGregor; aunts and uncles, David and Samantha Anderson, of Oglesby, Ron and Cindy Anderson, of Fla., Karen Anderson, of Mesquite, Paula and Al Hogan, of Forney, Patsy and Ken Thrasher, of Mesquite, and Randy Chamblee, of McGregor; cousins who were always a special part of Renee's life include, Misty and Wade Cook, of Gatesville, Cort Anderson, of Waco, Aaron and Susanne Anderson, Taylor Anderson and Whitney Anderson, all of Fla., Brittany and Austin Hogan, of Forney, Roman and Kristin Chamblee, of McGregor, Rance Chamblee, of Calif., Chad and Karen Chamblee, of Keller, Tim and Jill Thrasher, of Mesquite, and Trent and Nicole Thrasher, of West Columbia; nieces, Jazlynn Andrea Anderson and Devida Alanis Anderson, of San Antonio; special nieces, Jordan and Cecilia Renee Villa, of Crawford, and Karlie and Kayla Chamblee, of Keller; special nephews, Cannon Wade Cook, of Gatesville, Micah and Ryder Zane Chamblee, of McGregor, and Reese and Ryan Chamblee, of Calif.; and Renee always considered Brittany and Rufino Villa, of Crawford, her special brother and sister.
