Major (U.S. Army Retired) Francis Hugh Douglas, 82, died on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Vista Care Hospice, Franciscan Woods, Columbus, GA.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at the Main Post Cemetery, Fort Benning, GA, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA,

Major (Retired) Douglas served this country for 22 years in the U.S. Army/Army Air Corp with tours including WWII (ETO), Kore, and Vietnam.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Dorothy June (nee Lamont) Douglas of Columbus, GA; one son, Mark Douglas and his wife Anne of Montgomery, AL; one daughter, Caroline Matheson and her husband Joe of Columbus, GA; four grandchildren; and a sister, Eleanor Morris of Saint Augustine, FL.
