FORT WORTH - Idalia S. Aguirre, 85, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023.

The Aguirre Family is deeply saddened of the passing of their mom Idalia "Chachi" Aguirre. Who was the Matriarch of her family.

Idalia was born May 3, 1938, in Fort Worth Texas and lived most of her life on the Northside of Fort Worth. She was a member of La Primera Iglesias Bautista. She loved being around her family and friends and always had an open door to her home.

She was an advocate for her community and showed this through her many jobs as an Instructional Assistant for FWISD, City of FW Case Manager, Specialist in the Implementation of Project "Yo Soy" for the City of FW, Case Aide for the Attorney General's Office of Texas, Director of Childcare Associates of FW, and Director of Senior Citizens Center of Fort Worth. Idalia was an advocate for Literacy and the Arts and always promoted higher education, she attended TCU to pursue her degree in education leaving an indelible mark and her legacy which continues to this day.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jonas and Aida Sepulveda, Homer Sepulveda, Hugo Sepulveda and Armando Canales.

Idalia is survived by her four children, Rolando Aguirre, Nina Aguirre-Barrington and husband, Mark, Dina Aguirre-Perez and husband, Ramon, and Leo Aguirre. She has 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Mel Sepulveda and wife, Gloria; and sister, Becky Sedillo and husband, Alex.

We are thankful to Community Healthcare of Texas Hospice at Huguley Support Team that gave the greatest and most compassionate care to our mom and our family.

Visitation, at the Greenwood Chapel, will be on Sunday the 21st of May, with the funeral at noon on Monday the 22nd at the Greenwood Chapel.
