Talithia Vashti Moore Preston
Mother to 10 children; great-grandmother to 31 grandchildren and countless great-grandchildren and so on...

Younger photo was believed to have been taken when they married.

The older picture was taken when she was 79 yrs. old in 1959. She fell at church through an open door that led to the church basement. The doctors told her that she wouldn't live and if she did she would never walk. Granny Preston BOLDLY told those doctors that they didn't know the God that she served. She said that the God she served not only would allow her to live but to walk. Granny proceeded to move from being flat on her back to walking with a walker and then with a cane. Although she used the cane for the balance of her life she only used the cane when traveling away from home.

She was the most God-fearing and faithful woman that I have ever known. Because of her daily dedication to serving the Lord Jesus Christ she always had food warming and ready to eat on the large kitchen wood stove. She always had an overstuffed sofa or a nice bed ready with the brick bedwarmers should you come to spend the night. She continued to wash, line dry and iron every piece of clothing plus all of the sheets and pillowcases for her and her son, Gus Preston till she died. She lived to be 91 years old and was known for her kindness, gentleness and beautiful laugh and smile.
