Wayne graduated from East High School in Madison in 1945. He was drafted into the U.S. Army when he was a senior and was never able to graduate with his class.
Wayne married Ruth Erickson on Sept. 2, 1950 in The Little Brown Church in the Vale, in Nasha, Iowa. They lived their entire married life in Madison.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Ruth; and children, Catherine S. (Jeff) Abbott of Windermere, FL, Gary W. Bewick of Black Earth, WI and Mark W. Bewick (Jennie) of Ocoee, FL; granddaughters, Shana (Cameron) Abbott-Hicks of Windemere, FL and Erica Abbott of Endeavor, WI; and great-grandchildren, Leye and Colin Hicks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold and Everett; and sister, Iola Kinney.
