From the Mears Obituary books - "Johias M. Brown, 28, died 20 February 1920. He was born in Macon county, Mo. 12 September 1892 the son of John T. Brown. He was married to Miss Susie C. Lucas 20 October 1914 and to this union two children were born, Maxine and Virginia. He leaves a father, mother, five brothers and four sisters: Willie, Charley, George, Amos and Almer; Nora, Vina and Susie of Jacksonville and Sarah M. Robertson of Huntsville, Mo. He was a member of the Mt. Salem Baptist church where the funeral was held with interment in nearby cemetery."
