Lavada Bennett Fetner, 92 of Blakely, GA passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at her sons' residence.
Mrs. Fetner was born on December, 18, 1930 in Randolph County, AL to the late Arva Joseph Bennett and Donnie Adell Kellum Bennett. She retired from the Paper Mill as an Accountant, a job she was promoted to for her hard work and skill with bookkeeping. While at the paper Mill, Mrs. Fetner assumed the responsibilities for the start-up of the Cedar Springs Federal Credit Union, which would later become Five Star Federal Credit Union, on a voluntary basis until it was established well enough to hire a full-time director. She attended the Blakely First Methodist Church where she was a member for numerous years.
Married to Charles Wyatt Fetner on May 29, 1949, he preceded her in death in 2015. She was also preceded in death by 7 siblings, Clovene Lacy, WB Bennett, Amber Parrish, Norma Lee Clark, Gordon Bennett, Bobby Bennett, and Earl Bennett.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law of Blakely; a son and his wife of Blakely; 7 grandchildren and 5 grandchildren in law; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother of Aiken, SC.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be her Grandsons.
