Mrs. Bevan died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1993, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 14, 1926, in Argonia, the daughter of Wallace Campbell and Mary Ann Stephens John. She married Billy E. Bevan on March 1, 1945, in Wellington and lived in Wichita and later in Wellington. Mr. Bevan died in 1962. She later married Edwin E. Walton and lived in San Antonio. They divorced in 1980.
Mrs. Bevan was a secretary who worked at Security State Bank in Wellington from 1962 to 1969. She retired as secretary to the director of the Lawrence utilities department in 1992.
In Wichita she was a member of the Friends Church and later was baptized into the First Christian Church, Wellington.
Survivors include two sons, John H. and Kenneth S., Wellington; a daughter, Marilyn Zerwekh, Lawrence; her mother, Mary Ann John, Wellington; a brother, Leroy M. John, Argonia; three sisters, Orpha Hall and Neva Wiske, both of Wellington; Elaine Grimm, California; and six grandchildren.
