Barbara Ann Arbuckle-Brumback, age 79, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on September 4, 2023, at Hosparus Health in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on July 28, 1944, in Glasgow, Kentucky to Woodson & Berniece Virginia (Shaw) DeFevere. Barbara's life was characterized by a myriad of accomplishments and roles, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication.

Barbara attended Butler High School in Louisville, KY. After high school she attended House of James Beauty College in 1961.

Barbara pursued various career paths throughout her life. She was a talented hairstylist who co-owned a salon in Shively, Kentucky, where she made countless clients feel their best. She owned a picture frame shop "Frames by Barbara" helping create frames for everlasting memories for her clients. Later, she transitioned into selling mobile homes at Trading Post Homes, serving communities in both Kentucky and Indiana. Barbara also worked as a dedicated school bus driver for the former West Clark school district. In addition to these roles, she was the proud owner of a floral business called Silk Creations, where her creative flair blossomed.

Barbara's life was marked by her commitment to family and love. She was married to Gordon E. Arbuckle on September 15, 1989, in Louisville, KY. Gordon preceded her in death on December 21, 2001. Later, she found happiness in marriage once again when she wed Gary L. Brumback on June 13, 2023, at the First Christian Church of Scottsburg, Indiana.

Barbara was a devoted member of the First Christian Church and a past member of the Order of Eastern Star in Sellersburg. She also enjoyed her time as a member of the Moose Lodge. Her hobbies included reading novels and cookbooks, as well as creating beautiful flower arrangements from real or silk flowers. Barbara had a passion for order and tidiness, ensuring that everything had its designated place.

She was a woman of many talents and was viewed as an outstanding individual by those who knew her best. To her daughter, Bethany, she was a hero, exemplifying strength and love in every way.

Barbara leaves behind a loving family that includes her husband, Gary L. Brumback of Nabb, IN, daughter, Bethany (Greg) Edwards of Scottsburg, Indiana, stepson Kevin (Tammy) Arbuckle of Scottsburg, Indiana, seven grandchildren, Brandon Robbins, Justin (Olivia) Edwards, Ariel Robbins, Anna Edwards, B.J. Arbuckle, Liz Wimp, Lee Arbuckle, one brother, David (Barbara) DeFevere of Louisville, Kentucky, several great-grandchildren, as well as a nephew and a niece.

The funeral services, conducted by Pastor Phil LaMaster and Pastor Dave Colbert, will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory ~ Scottsburg, followed by burial at Scottsburg Cemetery.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory ~ Scottsburg and from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service.

Memorial donations may be given in memory of Barbara to Scottsburg Cemetery, c/o Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, 138 Westavia BLVD, Scottsburg, IN 47170.
