Services for Dean Luce age 70, of Grapeland will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Bailey & Foster Funeral Chapel in Grapeland with Rev. Gary Luker and Rev. Jack Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in McCarter Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. before the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster.

Mr. Luce passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023 in Grapeland. He was born January 18, 1953 in Crockett, Texas to Leon and Elmyra Williams Luce. He retired from Nucor Corporation. He was a member of the Grace Bible Church. Mr. Luce was a beloved brother, he loved to hunt and fish and avid gardener of vegetables and flowers and spent many hours on his farm.

Mr. Luce was preceded in death by his parents, wife Nola Luce. He is survived by his children Daniel Smith, Chandler Smith, Amber Smith Rater, Kerri Chabott and Tiba Jordan, sisters, Myra Musick and husband Barry, Melba Wortham, Kathy Lumbreraz, Barbara Bowman and husband Ken, and Debra Rowden and husband John, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Keyton Lumbreraz, Tyler Lumbreraz, Brayden Batts, Drake Smith, Austin Smith, and Alex Russell. Honorary pallbearer will be Daniel Smith.
