Age 66, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at Christiana Hospital.

Born in Wilmington, Nicholas was the son of Caroline Malice and Nicholas J. Lombardo, Sr. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and worked for the Department of Defense as an Education Specialist until his retirement. He was a member of St. John the Beloved Church.

Nicholas will be dearly missed by his wife of 37 years, Patricia (Dufresne) Lombardo; his sons, Anthony Michael Lombardo of Newark, Michael Vincent Lombardo of Wilmington, and John Viggiani of Jacksonville, FL; his mother, Caroline Malice of Wilmington; his sister, Diane Thomas of Newark; his "adopted son", Scott G. Cloud; and two grandchildren, Michael, Daniel and Bella Viggiani.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday. April 22, at 12:30 pm, at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. There will be no calling hours.
