He honorably served in the Army National Guard, exemplifying patriotism, and demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his country. He owned and operated Don's Country Butcher for over 40 years.

In his free time, Don loved to be outside, camping, fishing, and boating was his favorite way to relax and unwind. Additionally, Don was an avid Razorback fan who enthusiastically supported Arkansas' basketball and football teams.
