Frank was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Africa for a time. After his relocation to Lake Charles, Louisiana he had occasion to meet the love of his life, Mary Kathryn, a beauty from Crossett, Arkansas. They married on June 25, 1954. Following his discharge, he swept her away to Philadelphia where he was employed at the Philadelphia Shipyard as an electrician and had occasion to work on the USS Saratoga.
After 13 years in Pennsylvania, Frank and Mary K. missed the south and moved the family to Florida in 1969 where they purchased and managed the Aloha Quality Inn and restaurant located on the St. Mary's River. Frank was deeply involved in community service as a member of the Rotary Club holding the title of President.
In 1981 he sold his business and began a new adventure working at the Jacksonville Air Route Traffic Control Center in Hilliard, Florida. Following a move to Jacksonville, Florida he worked for The Haskell Company, Lighthouse Electrical Contractors and Crabtree Plumbing until his retirement.
Frank was a loving and devoted husband, and father and was known for his delicious homemade spaghetti dinners and his witty sense of humor, he was a man of many words and stories. Everyone who came into his home immediately felt welcome, loved and blessed. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Kathryn, his big brother Leo Abbruzzese, his two beloved daughters Kathryn and Celia Abbruzzese, three grandsons and two great-granddaughters.
