David Alan Dolan, a lifelong resident of Montrose, Colorado, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023. David was born on August 14, 1955 to Jim Dolan and Carol (Barnes) Dolan and was the grandson of Clarence and Jessie Barnes and Emmett and Sylvia Boyer. He was a graduate of Montrose High School then went to Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, where he received a BA Degree. He had his business, Community Staffing, for over 30 years, retiring 3 years ago. David had an enjoyable sense of humor and was fun to sit and visit with.
He is survived by his mother, Carol Dolan, two aunts, Faye and Donna. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Dolan, brother Timothy Dolan, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Per David's wishes, there will be no planned services. In lieu of flowers, please donate to: Hope West Hospice, PO Box 1804, Montrose, CO 81401 or Circle 3 Cowboy Fellowship, 62885 LaSalle Rd, Montrose, CO 81401. Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory of Montrose are assisting the family.

After a while, you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul. And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't mean security. And you begin to understand that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises. And you begin to accept your defeats with your head held high and your eyes open, with the Grace of a woman, not the grief of a child. You learn to build your roads on today, because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight. After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much. So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure that you really are strong. And that you really do have worth and that you keep learning. With every goodbye you learn (Author unknown)
