Mr. Peckham died on Saturday, Jan. 25, in City Hospital after a three-month illness.
Born in Holmes County, a son of the late Charles P. and Etta (Way) Peckham, and had lived in Akron 65 years. He retired after 35 years at Firestone. Mr. Peckham was a member of Firestone Park Kiwanis, YMCA, Firestone Country Club, and Summit County Historical Society. He was active with the Red Cross fund-raising campaigns and Republican National organizations.
He leaves his wife, Alta; daughter, Judith Ann Heasley; stepdaughters, Mrs. Blaine Maxwell and Mrs. Betty Conner of Millersburg; sister, Mrs. Nellie Smail, Akron, Mrs. Mary Reisicar, Tyler, TX; and three grandchildren.
Burial in Rose Hill Burial Park. Schermesser Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
