She was an exceptional seamstress and sewed for Marian Anderson, and well known actresses. She was married to Charles I Peters and the two had a child, Betty Mae Peters. They raised their daughter in Manhattan, New York in "Sugar Hill."
One of her sisters, Zara Cully Brown, played the mother of George Jefferson, on the "Jeffersons. She also had a brother, Wendell Culley, who played in Count Basie's band for many years.
In April 18, 1959 Agnes married Mack Berry in Los Angeles, California at the age of 58.
Agnes died of breast cancer after fighting it over 20 years.
