Murrell is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Stewart) Wiles, as well as his grandsons; Andrew (Jacqueline) Wiles and Michael (Katherine) Wiles, and great-grandsons; Eric and Adam, along with his sister, Ann (Howard) Luttrell.
Throughout his life, Murrell was a dedicated servant of God and his community, dedicating over 40 years to ministering to various communities under the Missouri Methodist East Conference. Even in retirement, he continued to work within the church, offering his wisdom and guidance to those in need. Murrell will be remembered not only for his faith and service but also for his zest for life and his deep love for his family.
Murrell's educational journey was marked by achievement. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis before pursuing further studies at Eden Theological Seminary. Later in life, he earned his doctorate through Central Methodist University.
In addition to his spiritual calling, Murrell found joy in life's simple pleasures. His flower garden was a labor of love, and he discovered comfort in the natural beauty while observing birds. His passion for unique gifts and the thrill of exploration led him to travel and collect cherished memories along the way.
