Mrs, Mary E. Tucker
NILES -- Services for Mrs. Mary E. Tucker, 57, of 1653 Regent, who died at 4 a.m. Monday in Billings Hospital, Chicago, after an illness of four months, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mark's Catholic Church. Rev. Julius Hengesbach, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Halbritter funeral Home. She was a member of St. Mark's Church, the St. Mark's Catholic Mother, the St. Mary's Rosary Society and the Maccabees Tent Hive 39. A rosary will be read at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Society.
She was born Jan. 15, 1918, in Shoals, Ind., and she had lived here 29 years , coming from Valparaiso, Ind. She was employed at Luann's Country Mart. On April 20, 1946, in Niles, she was married to Roland J. Tucker. He survives with two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Haas and Miss Frances Tucker, both of Niles; two brothers, Albert Sipes of Shoals and Richard Sipes of Terre Haute, Ind.; three sisters, Mrs. Emilie Carver of Indianapolis and Mrs, June Smith and Mrs., Helen Benell, both of Valparaiso, and a grandchild.
