"James Earl 'Jim' Davenport, age 90, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 14, 2023. He passed peacefully at his home in Johnson City, Tennessee with his stepson Frank and his family. He remained in Muskegon, Michigan until his retirement in 2014.

Jim was born on August 26, 1933. He went to Muskegon High School and was in the class of 1951. He was drafted in the Army where he was a Colonels driver and learned the mechanic trade.
Upon his completion of his term of service he returned from Wurzburg, GE and worked as a mechanic. He then worked at at Lakeway Chemical, later known as Bofors Chemical, then Herman Miller furniture and later as a security guard. He retired in 2014 and later that year moved to Tennessee with his wife where they lived in the Smokey moutntains.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Judith D., 4 siblings: Virginia, Jane, MaryAnne and Roger; 1 daughter and stepson: Patty and David. He is being remembered by 5 children: Julie, JoEllen, Jamie, James E. and Sandra; 2 stepchildren: Frank and Patti; also by a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren."
