At the age of 14 she started working as a nurse's aide in Memorial Hospital and worked in the children's ward until she married at 27 years of age. Joyce was a homemaker for the past 68 years and a loving mother who cared for her children. Being a mother was her number one priority. She was a devout member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She was a Eucharistic minister, and served in the woman's group. She traveled with various groups at the church when they provided events and enjoyed playing bingo and most importantly time with her family.
