She was the daughter of Edward W. and Ruby (Ulmer) Carter and married J. D. "Monk" Walker. Her obituary follows:
Hazel Walker, age 73 of Huntland, died on Monday, May 17, 2010. She was born on Saturday, October 24, 1936 in Tullahoma, the daughter of the late Ed and Ruby Ulmer Carter. She is survived by two sons, Larry (Brenda) Walker of Huntland and Harry Walker of Belvidere; a daughter, Susan (Martin) Dickey of Huntland; and six grandchildren, Steven Walker, Shelley Walker, Amanda Walker, Cody Walker, Evan Dickey, and Ryan Dickey. The family received friends on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, from 5 - 8 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rick Wade officiating. Interment was in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Belvidere.
