Deborah Louise Weiner, an esteemed international interior designer, passed away on August 4, 2023, at her residence in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born on November 1, 1948, in Harrisburg, to the late Albert and Alma (Miller) Hoffman, Deborah was a beloved daughter, cherished spouse, and devoted mother.
Deborah, a woman of exceptional talent and creativity, dedicated her life to transforming spaces into breathtaking works of art. After graduating with honors and a Bachelor's of Arts degree from Drexel University College of Arts and Sciences, years later, Deborah refined her contemporary artistic talent and earned a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in Drawing and Printmaking at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She embarked on a remarkable career as an interior designer in the high-end hospitality, resort, and gaming industry. Her invaluable contributions to the field can be seen in numerous prestigious establishments worldwide, as she worked with renowned entertainment architecture firms such as Paul Steelman and Yates Silverman.
Throughout her life, Deborah touched the hearts and minds of those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her unique and distinct artistic vision, refined taste, and meticulous attention to detail elevated each project she undertook. Deborah had an innate ability to specialize in the creation of engaging interiors creating unique spaces with custom lighting, furniture, and custom textiles for restaurants, lounges, and casinos which has left an indelible mark on the world of design.
Beyond her professional achievements, Deborah found the greatest joy in her role as a mother. She leaves behind her daughter, Meredith Shea, of Pelham Manor, New York who will forever treasure the memories of her extraordinary mother's unwavering love and support. Additionally, she is survived by her spouse, Steven Weiner and her loving grandson Nathaniel Shea, son-in-law Anthony Shea and sisters Judy Riley, Sue McElhaney and sister-in-law Jacqueline Weiner.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her devoted son, Zachary Weiner.
Deborah's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm heart and unwavering dedication to her craft will forever be cherished. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, a funeral service will be held to honor her memory and celebrate a life well-lived.
A joint memorial service will be held for her and her son on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Millersburg, where family, friends, and colleagues will join together to pay tribute from 10-11:00 am, the service will begin at 11:00 am. Following the service, burial will take place at the Halifax U.M. Cemetery.
In Deborah's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Halifax Historical Society as she was deeply committed to giving back to her Halifax community.
