Funeral services for Edna Evelyn Evans, 86, of Caldwell, were held on Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, in the chapel at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

She was born Aug. 21, 1937, in San Saba, Texas, to Thomas (Buck) Griffith and Marjorie Griffith.

She married Orbie (OB) Evans in San Antonio, Texas, on Oct. 29, 1954.

Evelyn raised her family in Poteet, Texas, and worked at the public library.

After moving to Caldwell, she worked at the Caldwell Harry P. Woodson Memorial Library as the librarian for many years before her retirement.

She was also a wonderful cook and lovingly prepared meals for her family and friends.

Another favorite hobby was gardening.

Evelyn will be remembered for her love and kindness, but most of all for how much she loved her family.

She died on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Orbie "OB" Evans; three daughters; one son; 10 grandchildren; one greatgranddaughter; one greatgrandson.
