Ricardo "Ricky" J. García, age 57, of Las Vegas NM, was born on November 6, 1965.
Ricky passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Teofilo and Eloisa García (Lovato), sister, Gloria García and numerous aunts and uncles.
Ricky is survived by his lifelong partner of 34 years, Mary Valencia, his daughter Jennifer Luján (Leroy), grand kids, Ahmar, Peyton, and Aiden, brother, Joseph García, sisters, Kathy García (Alex) and Rebecca García, nieces, Angela Abraham (Paul) and Michele Márquez (Sequoia), nephews, Andrew García and Alexander Durán, Padrino, George Griego, Madrina, Ida Leibert and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ricky was a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, NM and graduated from West Las Vegas High School in 1983. Ricky became a security guard for New Mexico Highlands University and later worked at New Mexico Behavioral Health, where he retired in 2016. Ricky enjoyed working on cars, especially Mustangs, selling at the flea market and football. His favorite teams were Philadelphia Eagles and Las Vegas Raiders.
Ricky enjoyed talking with people and making them laugh. He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholi Church in Las Vegas, NM. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 1:30 p.m., also at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Las Vegas, NM. Serving as Pallbearers will be Joseph García, Alex Durán, Andrew García, Sequoia Romero, Steven Padilla and Johnny Crespín.
