Dennis R. Berfield, 74, of S. Williamsport, passed away, following a brief illness, Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at UPMC Williamsport.

He was married to the former Gail L. (Perry), who survives, on August 9, 1975.

Dennis was born on October 16, 1949 in Williamsport and was the son of the late Hawley R. and Jean A. (Richey) Berfield.

Dennis graduated from Williamsport High School in 1967 and then obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Penn College of Technology in 2008. He had retired from Lycoming County Court House as a programmer analyst in October of 2015 after working there for over 25 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of John F. Laedlein Masonic Lodge #707, South Williamsport, member of the Williamsport Harley Owners Group Chapter #1544, South Williamsport Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #145, NRA, Cub Scout Leader of Pack #41 of South Williamsport, Boy Scout Unit Commissioner for Susquehanna BSA #533 Council. In his retirement, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, especially making sure to participate in the 911 Memorial Ride. He had worked various jobs including master carpenter, electrician, roofing, postal worker, operator at Brodart and Williamsport Radio as a road salesman. He had also been affiliated with various county emergency management committees and work groups.

In addition to his wife Gail, he is survived by two sons; Rodman H. Berfield (Erin) of Bowie, Maryland and Dennis R. Berfield (Emily Denison) of Wendell, North Carolina, one grandson; Henry W. Berfield, one sister; Pamela J. Black and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother; L. Thomas Berfield.

There will be a graveside service held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery with Pastor Jeffery LeCrone officiating. (Everyone is to meet at the Cemetery).

Arrangements are being handled by Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 W. 4th St., Williamsport.
