Anne Lillian Berry Walker passed away after a brief stay at Temple Living Center East on February 15, 2023 and went to be with her Lord at the age of 106 years 20 days. Anne was the 6th born of 10 children on January 25, 1917 in Hico, Texas to Albert Benjamin Berry and Fannie Lela Phillips Berry. Anne is preceded in death by husband of 50 years James (Jim) and middle son Charles (Charlie) and daughter in law Vickie Prince Walker. She is survived by oldest son Jack and his long-term partner Alice Duane McGregor of Waco Texas and youngest son Ray of Jarrell Texas. She is also survived by her younger sister Charlene Humbert of Temple Texas and daughter in law Teresa Johnson of Van Buren Missouri. Anne has 4 granddaughters Robin, Stacy, Christy and Brandy and grandsons Brian and Trevor, 14 great grandchildren and a month old great great grandson. Anne has several surviving nieces and nephews.

Anne moved to Bell County and lived in Pendleton for most of her life. She was in the 1935 graduating class of Pendleton High School. The 1935 class was the last class at Pendleton HS. The next year it was merged with Troy Schools. She was then graduated from Durham Business School in Austin. During WWII she worked at the Blue Bonnet Ordnance Plant in McGregor. Anne also worked at Troy ISD and retired from Haywood Manufacturing Company in Temple. She moved to Troy in the mid-90s where she lived out the remainder of her life. Anne was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and worshipped with the Troy Congregation since the late 50s.

The family thanks the Nursing Staff at Temple Living Center East, the Nurses and staff at Heart to Heart Hospice for your great care since the first of the year. A very special thank you to the members of the Troy Church of Christ who looked out for her through her aging years. A very special heart felt thank you to Andrea Stephens and Sherry Reed.

Visitation will be held Thursday February 23, 2023 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, 3110 Airport Road, Temple Texas. The Funeral Service will be Friday February 24th at 10:00am at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Moffat Texas Cemetery at a later date.
