Television Director. During a more than forty-year career in Hollywood, he directed a wide range of popular TV programs which include "The Wild, Wild West," "Dallas" and "Dynasty." During World War II, Moore served with the 532nd Bomb Squadron with the United States Army and attained the rank of captain. After relocating to California, he got his start in the industry as a messenger at Columbia Pictures. He worked his way to assistant director and acquired valuable experience under director Edward Dmytryk for "The Juggler" (1953), "The Caine Mutiny" (1954), and director Robert Wise for "Run Silent, Run Deep" (1958). From the 1950s into the 1980s, Moore was a much sought after director with recurring episodes for the series "Maverick," "Hawaiian Eye," "Perry Mason," "Hogan's Heroes" and "Eight Is Enough." He was a part of television history in 1980, when he helmed the "Dallas" episode of "Who Shot J.R.?" which captured the viewership of a then TV record 83 million people. The episode became a part of popular culture. He died from heart related issues.
