Mrs. Barr was born in Darlington, SC, a daughter of the late Eva Purvis Collins and Clyde M. Collins. In the early 60's, she was an accountant for Advanced Stores in downtown Florence. She then opened a floor covering business with her late husband, Barr's Carpet Service, where she handled the books. Mrs. Barr was a member of Florence Baptist Temple and was a very giving and loving woman. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, fixing things, gardening and cooking. Mrs. Barr enjoyed and loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, John Wesley Barr, Sr. and grandchildren, Jamie and Kenneth Smith.
