Mrs. Mary E. Hughes, wife of Joseph Hughes died Wednesday following an operation Tuesday from which she never rallied. She was in the hospital about three weeks. She was a member of the First Christian church of Decatur.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., Dec. 6, 1858 and came to Decatur 42 years ago after living in La Place for a short time. She is survived by her husband and eight children. they are, Ms. J. W.Beaman, Homer C.Dickson, Herschal Dickson, Mrs. John Graft, Mrs. Herschal Dickson and Mrs. William Rhodes, all of Decatur, Mrs. Oscar Elliott, Mechanicsburg and Mrs. Fred Howell, Champaign, sisters Mrs. Phoebe Schaeffer, Caryle, Pa, Mrs. Robert Chamberlain Shippensburg, Pa. Mrs. Edward Pechart, Boiing Springs, Pa. She was married 3 times.
