Joanne Schwabe, nee Mahoney, 91. Resident of Bensenville passed away peacefully Monday, October
16, 2023. Born October 12, 1932 in Chicago. Daughter of the late James Mahoney and Margaret Kissane.
Joanne's love of family, faith and her beautiful smile are the gifts that she shared with us that will live on
in all that knew her.
Joanne is survived by her beloved children, Eileen (Ben) Muellers, Theresa Schwabe, Mary Beth (John)
Flynn, David (Terri) Schwabe.
To support Joanne's children through these times are her loving grandchildren: Margaret, John, Owen,
Robert (Jordan), Adam, Manny, Brandon, Danny, Courtney, David Jr. (Geena), Steven (Gigi), Lauren (Dave), Larry
(Fallon), Alex, and Zach.
Carrying on her legacy are great grandchildren: Lucas, Zoe, Charlie, Lula, Ryan, Noelle, Madeleine
and Nolan.
Joanne is the loving sister of Patrick Mahoney. Welcoming her home into the Lord's kingdom are
Joanne's husband Lawrence "Larry", her son Larry Jr., and siblings Jim and Mary Ellen.
To help carry and support the entire family are the extended members: Galindo Family: Luis, Nancy,
Celso, Danny, Briana, Ruby: Garcia Family: Marcos, Anna and Mateo.
Services will be held at Geils Funeral Home Bensenville on Sunday October 22, 2023. Visitation from 3
p.m. to 6 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 5pm to conclude the evening.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Alexis Church Bensenville, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday October 23, 2023.
Following mass will be a procession to All Saint's cemetery located in Des Plaines, Illinois
