Warren C. Alwood was born In DeKalb county, December 20th, 1862, being 72 years and one month old at the time of-his death, which occurred at the home of his son, Irvin Alwood at Lansing January 20th, 1935.
Mr. Alwood spent his early life in Indiana, coming to Michigan In 1901, settling on a farm in Arthur township Glare county. He was married to Adaline Mark in 1890 and five children were born to this union: Irvin, of Lansing; Wayne, of Edon, Ohio; Mrs. Hazel Garver, of Arthur township; Mrs. Floy Harring and Mrs. Beulah Carey, of Vernon township, Isabella county.
The wife and mother passed away June 4th, 1912, and Mr. Alwood continued to maintain a home for his family until they were all able to depend upon themselves.
Besides the five children, he is also survived by one brother, Solomon, of DeKalb county, Indiana, and one sister, Samantha Doty, of DeKalb County, Ohio, and a number of grandchildren.
He was a member of the United Brethern church at Brown Corner and a true and faithful Christian. His loss will be mourned by a large circle of friends.
Services were held at the Brown Corners United Brethern Church on Wednesday afternoon, January 23rd, at two o’clock by Rev. Charles Kleinhardt, assisted by Rev, M. VanBrocklin. Burial was made in the Arthur cemetery beside his wife.
