Memorial services for Dirk Allen Blacksher, 67, will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the Joe E. Jones Memorial Chapel with Dr. Craig Darter officiating. Services are under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

He passed away February 1, 2023 in Childress.

Dirk was born August 20, 1955 in Childress to Denzil and Janet Imhof Blacksher. He learned to mechanic at a very young age. He spent some time working as a police officer and was also a mechanic for the railroad and Denzil's Garage. He retired from Childress County as a heavy equipment operator. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix. He loved to tinker and loved his junk.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Trustin Wade; and sister, Denise Stone.

Survivors include his brother, Darin Blacksher and wife, Carla, of Lubbock; daughter, Misti Blacksher, of Childress; granddaughter, TaeLynn Blacksher, of Childress; grandson, Tayson Blacksher, of Childress; daughter, Julie Mojica and husband, Rudy, and family of Okarche, Okla.; and nieces Amie Seal, Kasey Smith, Mischa Anderson and Teela Gray all of Childress.—Johnson Funeral Home
