Alexander Nicholas Vecchiarelli, 20, of Cicero, passed away Friday, October 9, 2020. He was born in Syracuse and graduated from CNS High School in 2018. Alex was a cook and server at Vito's Ristorante; and his employer would say, he did every task handed to him, and did it well.

Alex loved fishing, hiking, and waterfalls, he made the most out of every moment and lived life to the fullest. Alex was always spontaneous and looking for adventure; If he wanted to do something, he went out and did it. When he wasn't out looking for adventure, Alex found comfort in his bedroom which he turned into his safe haven. Music was a type of therapy for him.

Alex had many skills, one of which he picked up from his father Nicholas. He always figured out how to put things together or fix things when his family needed help, such as drywall, plumbing, installing a kitchen sink, in which he did this past August when he traveled with his mother to Georgia to visit his sister for his nephews first birthday. He installed a new sink, faucet, garbage disposal and put his nephew's birthday toys together.

Alex planned on going to Alfred State in September 2021 to study electrical and was so excited about it. He dreamed of living in Colorado and having a house in the mountains someday.

This past year Alex enjoyed spending time with his girlfriend, Alesha, going to Rise and Shine every Thursday to get his birthday cake milkshake, watching movies in his haven, and cooking random foods for her.

He loved to make people laugh and always willing to strike up conversations with strangers. Alex had an infectious smile and laugh that brightened up the room and always gave big warm hugs to family and friends. He was one in a million and will be deeply missed.

He is predeceased by his father, Nicholas Vecchiarelli in 2015; his maternal grandmother, Leona Beard in 2015, and his maternal grandfather, William Beard in 2017.

Alex leaves behind his mother, Denise (Beard) Vecchiarelli of Cicero, NY; his grandparents, Albert and Patricia (Cresce) Vecchiarelli of East Syracuse, NY; siblings, Heather-Ann Marie Blovat of Byron, GA and Nathaniel John Vecchiarelli of Cicero, NY; a nephew, Grayson Storm Hill of Byron, GA; godparents, Brandon and Pamela (Vecchiarelli) Pelkey of Malone, NY; and numerous cousins.

Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 from 4 – 6 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Alex's life at 6 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
